Cleora Marie Wilson

Cleora Marie Wilson, age 88 of Columbus, Ks. passed away April 11, 2009 at 4:15
a.m. at her home in Columbus after an illness.
Marie was born July 11, 1920 at Monmouth, Kansas the daughter of Oliver Newton
and Margaret Beatrice (Mishler) Cavin. She lived here her entire life.
She was a supporter of the Veterans receiving a plaque in the regards to this
accomplishment. Her favorite activities were walking to pay bills and get
groceries and her flower garden, making homemade pillows, quilts and dolls,
raising her children and several grandchildren.
She married Leo Carl Wilson on December 7, 1939 in Carthage, Mo. He preceded her
in death 1987.
Survivors include three sons Bob Wilson and wife Pat, Frank Wilson and his wife
Debbie both of Columbus, and Rick Wilson of the home, three daughters Patsy
Jones of Carl Junction, Mo., Kay Gary of Columbus, Linda Ray and husband Edgar
Wayne of Riverton and three step children Francis Wilson and wife Wanda of
Pleasanton, Ks., Jimmy Wilson of Commerce, Ok. and Betty Stice of Columbus.
Four sisters Betty Williams of Girard, Ks, Maudie Cashman of Hutchinson, Ks, Pauline
Smith of Arcadia, Ks, and Irene Cashman of Cawker City, Ks and one brother
Robert Cavin of Arcadia, Ks, 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 10
great- great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband Leo Wilson, one son Billy Wilson, daughters Shirley
Kinman and Ann Miller, granddaughter Sheila Ballenger and step-daughter Henrietta
Maxton, two brothers Franky and Wesley Cavin.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday April 13, 2009 at the Park Cemetery in
Columbus, Ks with the Rev. Jeff Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Park
cemetery in Columbus, Kansas. Arrangements are under the direction of the
Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus.
