Clarena Taylor
5 April 1926 — 5 January 2009

Clarena Taylor, age 82, of Columbus, Kansas passed away Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Maude Norton - St. Johns Hospital in Columbus, Kansas.

Clarena was born April 5, 1926 at Coweta, Oklahoma the daughter of Alvin and Elizabeth (Hall) Hodge. Clarena will always be remembered for her great pies and apple dumplings.

She married Frank Crosby in 1944 they later divorced. Then she married the love of her life Max Taylor in 1965 in Columbus, Kansas and he survives of the home.

She attended the Center Christian Church of rural Columbus, Kansas

Additional survivors include three sons David Crosby of Kansas City, Kansas, Philip Crosby and wife Mary of Columbus, Keith Crosby and wife Christina of Owasso, Oklahoma; three daughters Sandra Stanley and husband Buck, Louise Robnett and husband Gary all of Columbus, Kansas, Terri Knoell and husband Don of ElDora, Iowa, and a son-in-law Dick Glasgow of Columbus, Kansas; two sisters Olive Winter and Lillian Whan, 18 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, and loving daughter Laura Glasgow, 2 brothers Howard and Beacher, one grandaughter and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday January 8, 2009 at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus with Rev. Tom Goettel officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery Columbus. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. Wednesday January 7, 2008 at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, Kansas.
