Joseph Frederick Robinson age 89 of Columbus, Kansas passed away at Medicalodge of Columbus, Kansas at 5:55 p.m. on June 7, 2009 after an illness.

Joe was born May 27, 1920 the son of Jesse Frederick Robinson and Trissie (Page) Robinson at the farm house around Columbus, Kansas. He grew up and attended schools in the Columbus, Kansas area. He was a long time farmer.

Joe married Frances E. Meeker on June 4, 1941 in Carthage, Missouri; she preceded him in death on October 26, 2006.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Columbus, Kansas; Prudence Lodge #100 of Columbus, Kansas; Mirza Shrine of Pittsburg, Kansas; was on the Farmers Coop of Columbus, Kansas serving on the board of directors.

Survivors include one son William Robinson of Palm Desert, CA, and one daughter Marla Sunday of Derby, Kansas, one granddaughter Tisha Reneé Hartman and husband Dan of Wichita, Kansas two great grandchildren Gracie Elizabeth and Christopher Joseph Hartman both of Wichita, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Genevieve Gillenwater and Thelma Meeker.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday June 10, 2009 at the First Christian Church of Columbus with the Rev. Roger Beason officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery of Columbus, KS. Family will have Masonic Rights said at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, Kansas with visitation going afterwards til 8 p.m.
