Gregory Lynn Atkinson, age 62 of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Kansas City Veterans Hospital in Kansas City, MO after an illness.

Gregory was born November 5, 1946 in Pittsburg, Kansas the son of William Reno and Virgina June (Tar) Atkinson.

He was a real estate man in the Kansas City area. He was the past-President of the RealEstatExchange Group in Kansas City, Missouri.

He married Dianna (Cooley) on June 5, 1965 in the First Christian Church in Columbus, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Survivors include his wife of the home, mother Virgina (June) Atkinson, two brothers Stan Atkinson and Brad Atkinson, and one sister Valerie all of Tulsa, Ok.; step brothers Reggie Day, and Ted Day; and a step sister Patsy Pearson all three from Kansas City area and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday October 12, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Columbus, KS with the reverend Roger Beason office. Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be left for either the Diabetes Assoc. or the Midwest Organ Transplant Bank at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus.
