Dari Simpson age 50, of Columbus, KS passed away December 23, 2008 at his home.

Dari was born March 8, 1958 in Garrett, Kansas the son of Dareld C. and Betty L. (Hill) Simpson. He grew up in Columbus all of his life and graduated from Columbus Unified High School in 1976 and attended Pittsburg State University with a BS in printing management and technology in 1982. He was a printer with the Midwest Color Graphics in Columbus.

Dari married Elizabeth Meriwether on September 18, 1983 in Columbus, Ks. She survives at Joplin, Missouri. He enjoyed sports and coaching baseball and football.

Additional survivors include his parents Dareld C. Sr. and Betty Simpson of Columbus. Two sons Sam Simpson and Joe Simpson both of Joplin, MO and one daughter Jenny Simpson of Joplin, MO, one brother David Simpson of rural Weir, Kansas and one sister Janie Jarrett of rural Baxter Springs, Kansas.

Family visitation 6-7 p.m. Friday December 26, 2008 at the Simpson Funeral Home Columbus. Private family burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Columbus Community Field Board and may be left at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, KS 66725
