Ramona M. Reeves, age 63 of Columbus, KS formerly of Mountain Grove, MO. passed away Tuesday night, September 9, 2008, at the Medicalodge of Columbus, after a sudden illness.

She was born October 10, 1944, at Mountain Grove, MO, the daughter of John and Mary (Getman) Pennington. She loved to quilt. She owned a quilting shop in the area and loved to go to the many quilting trade shows in the area. She was of Baptist faith, attending the First Baptist Church for a while in Columbus. Her hobbies included gardening.

She married William O. Reeves Sept. 17, 1965 in Columbus, KS. and they later divorced.

Survivors include two sons William F. Reeves of Scammon, KS, James Reeves of Columbus, KS and one daughter Tamela Doom of Welch, OK. Two brothers Alvis Pennington of Shoshone, Idaho and James Pennington of Norwood, MO; and one sister Avis Wells of Cattaraugus, New York. Two grandchildren Troy and Ryanna Doom, one niece Harriet Spencer of Mountain Grove, Mo. and two nephews Earl Spencer and Cecil Spencer both of Norwood, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son Mark Pennington Reeves. One sister Susan "Susie" Spencer and one brother Julius Pennington.

Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, KS. Graveside funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday Sept. 12, 2008 at the Denlow Cemetery in Denlow, MO.
