Orpha Elizabeth Randall
31 May 1922 — 16 August 2008

Orpha Elizabeth Randall age 86 of Columbus passed away 2:34 a.m. Saturday August 16, 2008 at the Medicalodge in Columbus after an illness.

Elizabeth was born May 31, 1922 in Hallowell, Kansas the daughter of Raymond and Grace (Holmes) Simpson.

She was a house cleaner for Mrs. Stebens as a teenager, worked for Safeway Grocery Store in Wichita, at the Wichita Airbase, and the G & W Grocery Store in Columbus and as a senior citizen help at Big Brutus in rural Columbus.

She married Herbert Randall on April 13, 1941 in Bentenville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1979

Memberships include First United Methodist Church in Columbus, KS.

Survivors include two daughters: Barbara Trotter and her husband Tom of Weir, Kansas and Beverly Bowyer and husband Larry of Effingham, Kansas; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. Two brothers Raymond Simpson of rural Weir, and Dareld Simpson of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by two brothers W.J.'Bill' Simpson, and Carl Simpson, Aug 20, 2007 and a sister Golda Westervelt in May 2008.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 20, 2008 at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus with the Pastor Susan Brey-Daniels. The family will receive friends from 7-8p.m. Tuesday evening August 19, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials have been established for the Columbus Community Foundation and may be left at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus.
