Roy T. (Terry) Maddox
29 March 1946 — 17 June 2008

Roy T. (Terry) Maddox, age 62, of Grove, Oklahoma, formerly of Weir, Kansas passed away at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Missouri on Tuesday, June 17, 2008.

He was born March 29, 1946 in Eldorado, Kansas to Jake Maddox and Lois Thurman Maddox. He attended Weir school and graduated from Southeast High School, Cherokee, Kansas with the class of 1964. He also attended Pittsburg Vo-Tech for 2 years. He served in the United States Army Reserve for 6 years. He was a member of the Grove Moose Lodge #2033, VFW Post #8380, Grove, Oklahoma. He worked for Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, Parsons, Kansas, Gulf Chemical Plant, Crestline, Kansas until the plant closed, St. John's Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.

He married Lela Ramsey on September 3, 1971 at Joplin, Missouri. She survives of the home. Additional survivors are his mother, Lois Maddox, sister, Linda Hudson of Girard, Kansas, sister-in-law, Leona Pagano of Grove, Oklahoma, several nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces and very special companion, Baron Maddox. He was preceded in death by his father, Jake Maddox, and his grandmother, Olive Maddox.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 1:00 p. m. at the Cayuga Mission Church, NE of Grove, Oklahoma with Warren Pennell officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Grove Kennel Club. Memorials can be sent to Simpson Funeral Home. Simpson Funeral Home, 323 S Kansas, Columbus, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
