James Philip Jones
29 January 1934 — 23 September 1834

James Philip Jones, age 74, of Mulberry, KS passed away 5:43 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Arma Care Center in Arma, Kansas.

James was born January 29, 1934 the son of James Philip Jones and Thelma Wade. James served his country in the US Air force as a Tech. Sgt. for over 20 years. He also worked as a railroad trackman and as a mechanic for McNalleys.

Memberships include American Legion and the V.F.W. both in Pittsburg, KS.

James married Melva Rose Wass on December 15, 1978 at Mulberry. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include one son David Jones of San Jose, CA; two daughters Jaunita Morris of Arma and Yetta Jones; two brothers Kenneth Jones of Lancaster, CA, and Robert Jones of Vancouver, Washington; one sister Margorie Thomas of Los Moline, CA and 4 grandchildren and 12 step grandchildren.

Memorial graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Fort Scott National Cemetery #1 in Fort Scott, Kansas with Billy Wells officiating. Services are under the direction of the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, KS.
