William Lee (Jake) Jacobberger SR.

William Lee (Jake) Jacobberger SR. age 70 of rural Columbus, KS passed away on
Sunday June 29, 2008 at the St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO.
He was born July 14, 1937 at Omaha, Neb. The son of Leo and Dorothy (Brock)
Jacobberger. Jake was preceded in death by his father, brother and sister.
Bill was married to his wife Pat for 50 years. They married in Overland Park,
Kansas on July 3, 1958. They had five children Michael Jacobberger, William Lee
Jacobberger, Jr, Patti (Jacobberger) Roark, Jeffrey Jacobberger, Valori
(Jacobberger) Richardson. They have several grandchildren, a grandson Shawn
Jacobberger resides in the home and is a Sophomore at Columbus High School and
several great grandchildren.
Columbus has been their home for over 30 years. Jake was in the Marine Corp.
for 9 1/2 years. He worked for Spencer Chemical, Gulf Oil and was a Plant
manager of the NCN Plant and the Sherman Plant for several years. He drove over
the road until he suffered a massive stoke 15 years ago, he was no longer able
to work and retired later on. He was a wonderful family man and will be sadly
missed by his family.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday July 2, 2008 at the Simpson Funeral
Home in Columbus, KS with Dennis Johnson, Minister officiating. Burial will
be in the Edgmand Cemetery NW of Columbus, KS. The family will receive friends
from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Simpson Funeral Home.
