Daphine V. Wisdom, age 89 of Columbus, KS passed away Monday Feb. 19, 2007 at the Medicalodge of Columbus, KS. after an illness.

She was born Feb. 23, 1917 at Ava, Mo. The daughter of William Blaine and Lettie (Davis) Shaver.

She worked at several cafes in Columbus, KS and also worked at the KAARP in Parsons, KS for a number of years. She married Luther A. Wisdom June 21, 1936 in Oswego, KS. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1992.

Memberships include Crafts & Hobby Club and the Violet Club both here in Columbus, KS.

Survivors include 2 sons JB and wife Alberta Wisdom of Columbus, KS and Galen and wife Joyce Wisdom of Landsville, TX, 2 daughters Wilma and husband Warren Duley of Columbus, KS and Marilyn and husband Kenny White of Scammon, KS. 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, one grandchild and one great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Friday Feb. 23, 2007 at the Simpson Funeral Home, 323 S. Kansas Ave., Columbus, with the Rev. Larry Perry and Dennis Johnson, Clergy. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Simpson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery rural Columbus, KS. Memorials may be left at the Simpson Funeral Home for the St. Johns Hospice, or Pleasant Hill Church, or the Medicalodge activities fund.
