Shirley D. Redd
19 November 1924 — 17 February 2007

Shirley D. Redd, age 82 of Galena, KS passed away Saturday February 17, 2007 at the Freeman Hospital Joplin, MO.

Shirley was born November 19, 1924 at Raymond, OK the daughter of August W. and Emma (Abel) Wigel. She was a secretary for Price Motors for a number of years, then Wilcox in Columbus, KS and for the O'Malley Implement in Pittsburg, KS.

Shirley married John Q. Redd on December 11, 1954 in Miami, OK. He preceded her in death June 6, 1991.

Shirley was a member of the First Christian Church of Columbus, Ks where she taught Sunday School Classes, and she was a Pre-school teacher at the First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Columbus Chapter.

Survivors include two sons Jack Redd of Pittsburg, KS and Phillip Redd of Galena, KS.

One brother John Wigel of Fairland, OK, two grandchildren John Paul Redd of Kansas City, Kansas and Julie R. and her husband Chris Killebrew Baxter Springs, KS. One great granddaughter Kaydence Marie and several nieces and nephews. Two step grandchildren Ronald and Joshua Garcia.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 20, 2007 at the Park Cemetery with Dennis Johnson, Clergy officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8p.m. Monday Feb. 19 at the Simpson Funeral Home, Inc. 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, KS.

Memorial has been set up at the First Christian Church Columbus, KS and may be left at the funeral home.
