Lucy L. Ochsenbein, age 85 of Columbus passed away Thursday Sept. 13, 2007 at Medicalodge in Columbus after an illness.

Lucy was born Feb. 13, 1922 in Lamar, MO, the daughter of Willie and Iva May (Carter) Wallace. She grew up and attended schools in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School.

She married Thomas M. Ochsenbein November 11, 1938 at Oswego, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Survivors include one daughter Alberta Wisdom of Columbus and one sister Naomi Browning of Sarasota, Florida. Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Clarence, Charlie and Raymond Wallace, and four sisters Pauline Baldwin, Maxine Baldwin, Gladys Lucas and Arlene Crain.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Monday Sept. 17 at the Simpson Funeral Home Columbus with Dennis Johnson, Minister officiating. Burial will be in the Edgmand Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-7p.m. Sunday Sept 16 at the Simpson Funeral Home Columbus. Memorials will be to the Columbus Medicalodge Activities Fund or the St. Johns Hospice—Joplin.
