Opal Irene Jameson, age 95 of Frontenac, KS formerly of Girard, KS passed away Oct. 29, 2007 at the Sunset Nursing Home in Frontenac after an illness.

Opal was born East of Girard, KS on November 7, 1911 the daughter of Bert and Maggie (Piper) Herrick. She grew up in the area attending schools in Girard, graduated from Girard High School and the Pittsburg, Kansas Teachers College in 1953.

Survived by friend and caregiver Tim L. Fielder of Girard, KS.

She was preceded in death by her brother Milburne Herrick, and sisters Lelia Herrick and Eve Herrick and an infant brother and sister.

Funeral Services will be held at the 2 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 3, 2007) at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, KS 66725, with Jeff Wary, minister officiating. Burial will be in the Cherokee City Cemetery, Cherokee, Kansas.
