Dale Turner
1 October 1918 — 10 November 2006

Dale Turner, age 88, of Rural Columbus, KS passed away Friday evening at the Medicalodge of Columbus, Ks after a short illness.

Dale was born October 1, 1918 in rural Columbus, KS the son of Roy and Lena (Moyer) Turner. He grew up and attended school in the area. He was a manager with the PJ Little League team for a number of years, the last year he coached was the Championship team.

He also worked as a body and fender man with the Cherokee County Road Department for a number of years.

He was a member of the First Christian Church and the C.C.L.I.A (Cherokee County Livestock Improvement Association) in Columbus.

Dale married Ruth M. Osborn on April 9, 1939 in Columbus. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2004.

Survivors include one daughter Carol Stone and husband Jr of Galena, KS, one son Ron Turner and wife Rita of Scammon, KS, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister Eva Turner Knott in 1946.

Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday (November 15, 2006) at the Park Cemetery Columbus, KS with the Reverend Dan Haggard officiating. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of Columbus and may be left or sent to the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, KS. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.
