Pearl Ann "Anna" Tanner
4 July 1919 — 15 March 2006

Pearl Ann "Anna" Tanner, age 86, of Columbus, KS passed away 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at the home after an illness.

Anna was born July 4, 1919 in rural Columbus, KS the daughter of Elmer John and Pearl Anna (Smith) Zook. She worked as a homemaker and farmer. She was a lifetime resident of Cherokee County, Kansas.

She married Willie G. Tanner December 25, 1943. He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include two sons Ronnie G. Tanner of Silt, CO and Steven J. Tanner of Columbus, KS; one brother Leonard Zook of Columbus, KS; six grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers — EJ Zook and Carl Zook; three half sisters — Nina Bowley, Bernice Parmeter, and Thelma Wing.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday (March 17, 2006) at the Park Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Anna will lie in state at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, KS after 8 a.m. Thursday March 16, 2005.
