Yolan Aileen Mack, age 79, of Columbus, KS passed away 11:40 a.m. Wednesday Feb.
22, 2006 at the Medicalodge of Columbus, KS after an illness.
Aileen was born August 28, 1926 at Baxter Springs, KS, the daughter of Homer
Ernest and Glessie Lavon (Slover) Adamson. She worked at the Berry Garment
Factory, and Kirk Grocery Store, and also a waitress at the Dairy Bell
Restaurant and was a dispatcher for the Cherokee County Sheriff Department.
She married Gerald Fee in 1946 and they later divorced in 1958. Then she
married John R. Mack on March 5, 1961 and he survives of the home.
Memberships include Macedonia Baptist Church of rural Columbus, KS and she was
a member of the Purcell Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Columbus, KS
where she is a past Worthy Matron. She was a farm house wife and an avid roller
skater.
Additional survivors include one daughter Carolyn Timmons of Ormand Beach,
Florida.
One brother Ray Adamson of Grandview, MO. Two sisters Margie Higginbotham of
Columbus, KS and Marcia Mathes of Grove, OK, and one grandson and two great
grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Norman Adamson, one son
Larry Fee and two infant sisters
Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 25, 2006) at the
Edgmand Cemetery with the Rev. Marvin Cleveland officiating. Her body will lie
in state at the Simpson Funeral Home Columbus, KS after 10 a.m. Friday. The
family suggest memorials be left for the Medicalodge Residence Activity fund and
may be left at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave.
