Robert D. DeVoe
23 March 1925 — 2 February 2006

Robert D. DeVoe, age 80 of Columbus, KS passed away Thrusday evening at 8 p.m. at the St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO after an illness.

Robert was born March 23, 1925 in Columbus, KS the son of Clyde E. and Marie Carrie (Childres) DeVoe. He was a pipefitter.

He was a vetern of the U. S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict and the U.S. Marines in World War II. Received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.

He was a member of the First Christian Church Columbus, KS.

Survivors include 1 brother Ned DeVoe, Columbus, KS; two sisters Theda Correll of Columbus, KS and Margie Parmele of Wichita, KS and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday (Feb. 6, 2006) at the Park Cemetery of Columbus, KS with the Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. The family request that everyone meet at the Simpson Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. then go in procession to the cemetery.
