Anna Elizabeth Bass
11 March 1904 — 15 December 2006

Anna Elizabeth Bass, age 102 of Columbus, Kansas formerly of Walnut, Kansas passed away Friday morning December 15, 2006 at the Medicalodge of Columbus after an illness.

Anna was born March 11, 1904 at Walnut, Kansas. The daughter of George B. and Maggie (Preston) Wilson. She was a devoted house wife, mother and grandmother. Anna graduated from Walnut High School in 1924. She spent her entire life in Walnut till March 2005. She loved watching birds, working in her garden, and she loved her flowers. She sewed a lot of her clothes in her younger days. Her home was always open to a person in need.

She married Mason M. Bass Sr. June 19, 1924 at the Walnut Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1999.

Survivors include one son Mason Bass Jr. of Columbus, KS. Two daughters Opal Carson of Mt. Home, Ark. and Pauline Wood of Cambria, Ca. one sister Mae Mein of Wichita, KS, 9 grandchildren, Randy Bass, Shirley Redd, Sharon Carpino, Phillip Bass, all of Columbus. Phyllis Kelly of Lee's Summit, MO, Loretta Bass of Norman, OK, Keith Carson, Grafton VA, Richard Wood and Charles Wood, Cambria, California; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mason M. Bass Sr., one son Chauncey R. Bass, one sister Florence Wilson, five brothers Ed, Ora, George, Floyd, and Glenn Wilson and one great grandson Phillip Ian Bass.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday December 18, 2006 at the Walnut Cemetery, with Dennis Johnson, Pastor officiating. The family will have visitation from 12:30 p.m. till 1 p.m. at the Simpson Funeral Home Columbus, KS before going to the cemetery in procession.
