Michael Scott Anderson, age 39 of Columbus, KS passed away Saturday September 16, 2006 as a result of an auto accident south of Columbus, KS.

Michael was born September 30, 1966 in El Cajun, California, the son of Byron and Patricia Joann (Handleman) Anderson. He graduated from the Baxter Springs High School and he worked for Bagcraft Corp in Baxter Springs as an advanced pressman.

He married Carla Phillips Britt on June 18, 2005 in Columbus, KS, she survives of the home. He was a devoted husband and father. He had a love for music.

Survivors include wife Carla Anderson of the home, one daughter Taylor Anderson of Baxter Springs, KS, one son Brendon Anderson of Baxter Springs, KS, two step sons Kyle Olson of Columbus, KS and Dalton Britt also of Columbus, KS, one brother Ron Anderson of Grove, OK, one sister and brother-in-law Lynn and Bob Snowden of Miami, OK, one nephew Shelby Poor of Miami, OK, and one niece Jaque Anderson of Miami, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday Sept. 21, 2006 at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, KS with the Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery rural Columbus, KS. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday 9-20-2006 at the Simpson Funeral Home. Memorial has been set up in his name at the Exchange State Bank in Columbus and may be left there or mailed to the Simpson Funeral Home, 323 S. Kansas Ave., Columbus, KS 66725.
