Ola Inez Zook, 78 years old of rural Columbus, Kansas died after a sudden illness at 9:22 a. m., Monday, February 28, 2005 at the St. John's Maude Norton Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Ks. Mrs. Zook was born December 5, 1926 in Columbus, Kansas, the daughter of John Luther Gray and Laura Ann Payne Gray. She attended Columbus, Kansas schools.

She married Leonard Zook on January 13, 1946 at Columbus, Kansas. He survives of the home.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Zook was preceded in death by four sisters, Reba J. Riker, Vivian Wells, Opal Gray and Helen Gray, two brothers, Johnnie D. Gray and Harry Gray. She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Ann Cain of Columbus, Kansas and two sons, Galen R. Zook of Columbus, Kansas and Jeffrey R. Zook of Iowa Park, Texas, two sisters, Martha Allen of Osawatomie, Kansas and Virginia Wheelen of Columbus, Kansas, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at Simpson Funeral Home at 2:00 p. m. March 2, 2005 with Reverend Tom Goettel officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, rural Columbus, Kansas. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Cherokee County 4-H Council in care of Simpson Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home, 323 S Kansas, Columbus, Kansas. The family will be at the home of Galen and Rhonda Zook.
