Lucille Warner age 79 of Columbus, KS formerly of rural Scammon, KS passed away April 16, 2005 due to a prolonged illness at Medicalodge of Columbus, KS.

Lucille was born August 28, 1925 rural Cherokee County, KS the daughter of Joe and Gladys (Bramlette) Carlson.

She graduated from Mineral High School, and later graduated from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in 1946.

She worked as a nurse in Pittsburg, and as an industrial nurse at Parsons Ammunition Plant, and John Deere of Pryor, OK, in Pediatric hospitals in Kansas City and Topeka. Her last employment was at KS State Hospital in Parsons.

She married Vern O. Warner in 1955 in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death March 3, 1977.

She was a member of St. Bridget's Parish, Scammon and held a lifetime membership in both the American Nurses Association, and the Kansas Nurses Association.

Survivors include: two sisters Dorothy Saplata of Grandview, MO, and Gwenith Blake of rural Scammon, one brother James Carlson of Columbus, KS, an aunt Louella Lynch of Overland Park, KS, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins in this area.

A rosary will be held for Lucille at 7 PM Monday April 18, 2005 at Simpson Funeral Home, Columbus, KS with a visitation immediately following until 8 PM. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday April 19, 2005 by Father Chris Ah maung at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Scammon, KS. Burial will immediately follow at St. Bridget's Cemetery in Scammon, KS. A memorial has been set in lieu of flowers to St. Bridget's Cemetery/Church Scammon, KS and may be left at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, KS 66725.
