Martha Ann Sanders, 63, of Columbus, KS passed away 2 a.m. Wednesday May 18, 2005 at her home in Columbus after an illness.

Martha was born November 19, 1941 at Jasper, Alabama the daughter of Ralph N. and Anna Lee (Starkey) Sanders. She was a school teacher teaching in Sabetha, KS then Coffeyville, KS and then taught 25 years at USD 493 in Columbus, KS where she retired in 1997.

Memberships include the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, KS and the local Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Women Educators

Survivors include one brother Joe R. Sanders of Bluffton, SC; one nephew Stephen Sanders Belton, Virginia and two nieces Jennifer Sander Huron, Ohio, and Grethen Sander of Portland, Oregon and 5 grand nephews and 5 great nieces

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday (May 21, 2005) at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, KS with the Pastor Don Flanner. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery Columbus, KS. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. til service time at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, KS.
