James E. Poe
10 March 1921 — 11 February 2005

James E. Poe, age 83 of Scammon, KS passed away at 8:22 p.m. Friday (February 11, 2005) at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.

James was born March 10, 1921 at Lincoln, Arkansas, the son of Jesse and Lillian (Barnes) Poe. He was a self employed TV Repairman.

He was in the WWII Army.

He married Vicki Stevens December 13, 1976 at Kansas City, MO, she survives of the home.

Memberships include the V.F.W. of Heber Springs, Arkansas.

Additional survivors include three sons—Denny Poe of LaGande, OR; Richard Poe of Joplin, Mo.; and Jesse Poe of Scammon, KS. Five daughters—Patricia Neighbors of Pineville, MO; Susie Poe of Sunrise Beach, MO; Donna Daugherty of Sunrise Beach, MO; Victoria Bigness of Hickory Ridge, AR; and Tina Poe of Scammon, KS. 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by one son, Eddie Poe, and one daughter, Deanna Poe, one brother, two sisters and two grandsons.

Funeral Services will be 10 am Tuesday February 15, 2005 at the Simpson Funeral Home of Columbus, KS with the Rev. Joe Gentzler officiating, burial will be in the Osborne Cemetery, Joplin, MO. Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday (February 14, 2005) at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, KS.
