Helen Olson
14 January 1917 — 7 November 2005

Helen Olson, age 88 of Grove, OK formerly of Columbus, KS passed away 9:35 p.m. Monday (Nov, 7, 2005) at the Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, OK.

She was born January 14, 1917 on a farm in rural Columbus, KS, the daughter of Fred J. and Trissie (Page) Robinson. She grew up and attended schools in the Columbus, KS area graduating from Columbus High School, Columbus, KS.

She married Delbert Moore in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1970. She then married Evelyn (Olie) Olson on April 16, 1977, he then preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1993. She worked at the Drug Store in Columbus, KS then she worked for the Cherokee County Courthouse in the Register of Deeds office for a number of years retiring in 1977.

She was a member of the Edna United Methodist Church, Edna, KS and was very active in her church, and the Progessive Home Club. She was very gracious and caring person that always had a smile on her face.

Survivors include step daughter Cheryl Beam and a step son Robin Olson of Grand Junction, CO, one brother Joe F. Robinson and wife Frances of rural Columbus, KS and one sister Geneviere Gillenwater of Grove, OK, one nephew Bill Robinson of Palm Springs, Calif and two nieces Kay Akins and Jim Cartwright of Muskogee, OK and Marla Sunday of Derby, KS

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday (Nov. 11, 2005) at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, KS with the Rev. Larry Nabours officiating. Burial will be in the Hosey Hill Cemetery in Weir City, KS. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. til services time Friday at the Simpson Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to the Edna United Methodist Church and may be left or mailed to the Simpson Funeral Home, 323 S. Kansas Ave, Columbus, KS 66725
