Anna Mercer
9 March 1923 — 7 February 2005

Anna Mercer, 81 of Galena, Kansas passed away 12:55 p.m. Monday February 7, 2005 at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Anna was born March 9, 1923 on the Neosho River bank in Cherokee Co., Kansas the daughter of William and Anna Wimp. She graduated from Columbus High School. She was a house wife.

She married W.E. "Bud" Mercer July 1, 1941 and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1998.

Memberships include United Methodist Church and Cleo Club both of Columbus, Ks., the Order of Eastern Star of Galena, Ks., the Daughter of the Nile of Pittsburg, Ks.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Wanda Kay Mercer of Crestline, Ks. area; Two sisters: Helen Bernadi of San Antonio, Tx. and Eva Dunkin of Columbus, Ks. Three grandchildren: Tammy Mercer of Tulsa, Ok., Rex and wife Sandy Mercer of Crestline, Ks., and Randy and his wife Christy Mercer of Crestline, Ks.; Five great grandchildren: Randi Mercer, Garett Mercer, Elizabeth Mercer, Cass Mercer, Grandy Mercer all of Crestline area.

Anna was preceded in death by three brothers: Al Wimp, Jess Wimp and Lee Wimp.

Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (February 9, 2005) at the Park Cemetery Columbus, Kansas with the Reverend Dennis Johnson officiating. Arrangements are by the Simpson Funeral Home Columbus, Kansas. A memorial has been set up in Anna Mercer's Name to the United Methodist Chruch of Columbus, Ks. and may be left or mailed to the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, Ks. 66725.
