Kenneth (Ken) M. Horn
21 November 1974 — 28 January 2005

Kenneth (Ken) M. Horn age 30 of Baxter Springs, KS passed away Jan. 28, 2005 suddenly at the Freeman Health Center Joplin, MO.

Ken was born Nov. 21, 1974 the son of Kenneth E. & Maria Carmen (Arratia) Horn. Kenneth graduated from high school in 1992.

Mr. Horn worked for the Galena, Ks Police Department then worked for Baxter Springs, KS Police Department for approx 2 years. Then he worked for Cherokee County Sherriff's Office as a Detective for approx. 4 years and most recently worked as the Galena KS Police Chief until his death. He also worked as a volunteer Fireman for Baxter Springs, KS.

He was a member in the Cherokee County Local Emergency Preparedness Committee, Cherokee County Sheriff Depatment, Galena Police Department, Baxter Springs Fire Department, Baxter Springs Police Department.

Survivors include his girlfriend Lori Franklin, Father and step-mother Kent E. & Brianna Horn of Columbus, KS, Mother and step-father Maria Carmen & Bryon Wilson of San Bernardino, CA. One half brother Jose Guillenmo "Memo" Arratia of Ranch Santa Margareta, CA. 2 Step-brothers Scott Aaron Queen of Las Vegas, NV and Jacob Steven Sanders of San Bernardino, CA and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 2, 2005) at the Joplin Family Worship Center in Joplin, MO with Jeff Adams of the Baxter Springs Fire Department Chaplin offic. Burial will be in the Baxter Springs Cemetery, Baxter Springs, Ks with full police and firemans honors. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. til 8 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 1, 2005) at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, KS. A memorial has been set in Mr. Horn's name with the Emergency Response Agency in Cherokee County and may be left at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, KS 66725.
