Eva Dunkin
2 November 1917 — 17 February 2005

Eva Dunkin, 87, formerly of Columbus, Kansas died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Cornerstone Village, Pittsburg, Kansas. She was born November 2, 1917 at Hallowell, Kansas the daughter of William Wimp and Anna Seeley Wimp. She married Jim Dunkin. He died January 11, 1984.

Mrs. Dunkin graduated from Columbus High School and Pittsburg State Teachers College where she received a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in education. She was a teacher and taught for 21 years at Neodesha, Kansas. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Columbus, Kansas a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Retired Teachers Association and Clio Club.

Her parents, three brothers, Al Wimp, Jess Wimp, Lee Wimp and one sister, Anna Mercer, preceded her in death.

She is survived by one sister, Helen Bernardi of San Antonio, Texas, one nephew, Ronald Mercer and his wife, Wanda of rural Galena, Kansas who provided for her care, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Simpson Funeral Home, Columbus, Kansas on Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 10:00 a. m. with the Reverend Don Flanner officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Columbus, Kansas. Memorial donations can be made to United Methodist Church in care of the Funeral Home in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home, 323 S Kansas, Columbus, Kansas.
