Ruth M. Turner

Ruth M. Turner, age 83, of Rural Columbus, Kansas passed away Friday (March 19, 2004) afternoon at the Freeman East Hospital in Joplin, Missouri after an illness.
Ruth was born December 3, 1920 in Morrison, Oklahoma the daughter of Clarence and Callie (Robison) Osborn. She resided around Columbus, Ks. most of her life, graduating from Columbus High School in 1938. She enjoyed her family and loved gardening and doing crafts.
She worked for the Farm Bureau Ins. Co. Columbus, Ks. for 13 years, she worked for the Columbus Daily Advocate as a type setter for a number of years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Columbus, Ks.
Ruth married Dale Turner on April 9, 1939 in Columbus, Kansas. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include 1 son Ron Turner and wife Rita of Weir, Kansas, 1 daughter Carol Stone and husband Jr. of rural Galena, Kansas, 6 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 sister (3 years old) Lela, a half brother Clyde Osborn and a half sister Opal Durham.
She was a beatiful flower in our garden and God picked her and took her home. We will miss her very much.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, Kansas, with the Reverend Vernon Brewer and Reverend Joe Gentzler officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery Columbus, Kansas.
