Margaret J. Stanton
22 November 1910 — 22 March 2004

Margaret J. Stanton, 93 of rural Columbus, Kansas passed away Monday (March 22, 2004) at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri after an illness.

She was born November 22, 1910 on the family farm in Cherokee County, Kansas the daughter of Andrew P. Juergensen and Sophie Kueffner. She grew up and attended schools in Columbus graduating from Columbus High School in 1929, and the Kansas State Teachers College now P.S.U.in Pittsburg, Kansas. She was a retired school teacher working in rural schools and in Joplin, Missouri.

She married Elmer "Dutch" Stanton in 1946 in Joplin, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1954.

Memberships include St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pittsburg, Kansas

Survivors include Gary Stanton, rural Columbus, Kansas

Graveside Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (March 24, 2004) at the Edgmand Cemetery rural Columbus, Kansas with the Pastor Carol Willadsen officiaing. Arrangements are under the direction of the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, Kansas. The family request that friends meet at the Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Johns Lutheran Church Pittsburg, Ks. or the Columbus Community Foundation and may be left at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, Ks. 66725
