Alfred "Al" Lewis, age 90, formerly of McCune, Kansas passed away August 11, 2004 at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Frontenac, Kansas after an illness.

Mr. Lewis was born July 17, 1914 in Girard, Kansas the son of William Hiram Lewis and Verna (Thompson) Lewis. He attended and graduated from the Girard High School in Girard, Kansas.

Mr. Lewis married Winifred Andrews September 1935 in Oswego, Kansas and she preceded him in death in 1989. He was a farmer around the McCune, Kansas area.

He is a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church, McCune, Kansas, and he was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Girard Masonic Lodge Girard, Kansas.

Survivors inculde one daughter Shirley M. Pool, Independence, Kansas. Grandson Donnie Pool of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and one grandaughter Heather Mills, McCune, Kansas.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday August 14, 2004 at the Girard Cemetery, Girard, Kansas. Family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday August 13, 2004 at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave.
