Maxine King
18 November 1927 — 22 November 2004

Maxine King, 77 of Columbus, Kansas passed away 11:22 a.m. Monday (Nov. 22, 2004) at the St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO after suddenly falling ill.

She was born November 18, 1927 the daughter of Max Henry & Lilly May (Easterly) Muth. She grew up and attended schools in the Columbus, KS area graduating Columbus High School and attended Pittsburg State University. She worked for Gulf Chemical, later known as Chevron from 1955 til her retirement in 1982.

Memberships include First Christian Church Columbus, KS, Kum Double Sunday School Class, and Chevron Retiree Group.

She married Harry M. King April 3, 1948 in Columbus, Kansas. He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include one daughter Linda Swain of Lake Jackson, TX, one sister Dorotha Ellzey of Midwest City, OK and one granddaughter Sarah Swain of Tucson, AZ.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday (November 27, 2004) at the First Christian Church of Columbus, KS. With the Rev. Joe Gentzler officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery rural Columbus, KS. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. Friday (November 26, 2004) at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave. Columbus, KS.
