Marvin Lee Henderson

Marvin Lee Henderson, of Columbus, Ks. passed away Tuesday
evening at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center in
Overland Park, Kansas after an illness.
Mr Henderson was born the son of Tom and Millie Ann (Green)
Henderson on September 28, 1928 in Stipville, Kansas. He
graduated from Columbus High School in Columbus, Kansas and
the Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas with a
degree in chemistry. He worked for Eagle Picher Co. in
Galena, Kansas as a chemist and worked for Kansas Social and
Rehabilition Services in Columbus, Kansas for over 30 years.
He was a fifty year member of the Prudence Masonic Lodge
#100 of Columbus, Kansas. He loved to hunt and he loved his
garden.
Survivors include one brother, Bill Henderson of Columbus,
Kansas. Two nephews: William Amico of St. Petersburg, Mo.
and Jim Henderson of Columbus, Kansas and three nieces:
Dixie McColm of Columbus, Kansas, Mary Epler of Columbus,
Kansas and Donna Clinkscale of Coffeyville, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two
brothers, and two nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday (April 16,
2004) at the Park Cemetery in Columbus, Kansas with the Rev.
Joe Gentzler officiating. Prudence Lodge #100 of Columbus,
Kansas will conduct masonic services at the cemetery.
Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus is in charge of the
arrangements. The family suggest memorials be given to the
Columbus High School Alumni Assoc. and may be left or mailed
to the Simpson Funeral Home.
