Muriel Jackson Griggs, age 97, past away Saturday morning (February 21, 2004) at the St. Johns-Maude Norton Memorial Hospital, Columbus, Kansas after a lengthy illness.

She graduated from Columbus High School and the Gregg Business College in Chicago, Ill. She was an employee of Commonwealth Edison Company and after 28 years of secretary work she retired on November 1, 1969 and returned to Columbus, Ks.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Columbus, Kansas.

Survivors include her sister-in-law Dorothy Jackson of Columbus, Ks and a friend who helped take care for her, Judy Gleason of Columbus, Ks.

Private graveside services were held at the Park Cemetery in Columbus, Kansas with the Rev. Dennis Johnson under the direction of the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, Kansas.
