Thomas E. Grant
24 December 1926 — 8 May 2004

Thomas E. Grant, age 77, of Columbus, Kansas passed away May 8, 2004 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Mr. Grant was born December 24, 1926 in Scammon, Kansas, the son of James R. Grant and Dora Theis. He graduated from Mineral, Ks. High School in 1944 and attended the Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg, Kansas. He worked as Journeyman Pipefitter traveling across the United States. Working at B.F. Goodrich for 19 years retiring in 1986.

He married Shirley Brumback Ferraro November 4, 1966 at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Columbus, Kansas. She survives.

Memberships include St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Columbus, Kansas, Knights of Columbus #999 of Columbus, Ks., Local #664 Pipefitters Union, Frontenac, Kansas, and United Rubber Workers Union of Miami, Ok.

Additional survivors include a son Michael Ferraro and his wife Deanna, a daughter Bobbi Martin and her husband Russ. A Grandson Jason Ferraro and a granddaughter Jenna Ferraro. God daughters Madeline Soper, Miranda Soper, and Monica Soper, a niece Janet Soper and her husband Dave Soper all of Columbus, Kansas. One sister Catherine Gilmore of Pittsburg, Kansas, one brother Michael Grant of Columbus, Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday May 11, 2004 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of Columbus, Kansas with the Father Larry Parker and the Father Chrysostom Ah Maung officataing. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery in Columbus, Kansas. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. with visitation to follow till 8:30 p.m. at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, Kansas. Memorials have been established to the Columbus Community Foundation and may be left at the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas Ave., Columbus, Kansas 66725.
