William Norman Belden, age 47, of Columbus, KS. passed away Thursday, July 1, 2004 at his home.

Mr. Belden was born March 20, 1957 in Joplin, MO, he is the son of Carl and Geraldine Elizabeth (Robinson) Belden.

He worked in the Maintenance Department at Columbus Unified School District, Columbus, KS and BF Goodrich Co. for fifteen years. He loved the Red Wing Hockey Team, he loved to hike and was an avid bowler. He just recently became a weather spotter. He was a former member of the Columbus Ks. Jaycees.

He married Laura Owens February 24, 1979 in Overland Park, KS. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include one son Shane Belden of Columbus, KS, two daughters Kera Leeann Belden and Ashley Dawn Belden both of Columbus, KS, mother Jerry Belden of Columbus, KS, one grandson, and uncle Amos Belden of Bowie, TX.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandmother and grandfather.

Graveside rites will be 2 p.m. Tuesday July 6, 2004 at the Park Cemetery of Columbus, Ks. with the Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 P.M. till 8 P.M. Monday evening July 5, 2004 at the Simpson Funeral Home of Columbus, Ks.
