Viola Marie Scott, 94 of Pittsburg, Kansas passed away 8:50 a.m. Saturday (May 10, 2003) at the Medicalodge South Pittsburg, Ks. after an illness.

Viola was born May 9, 1909 in Raton, NM. The Daughter of Wilbur and Stella (Humphrey) Bennett. She grew up and graduated from Raton, NM. High School.

She married Lloyd Scott April 19, 1928 in Trinidad, Co. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1995. After marrage they moved to Hutchinson, Kansas, later moved to a farm near Weir, Kansas where she lived till 1992.

She was a member of the Christian Church in Raton, NM. She also attended the Pleasant View Baptist Church Scammon, Kansas and in later dates attended the Baptist Church in Weir City, Kansas.

She was a homemaker and dedicated her entire life to her family and neighbors.

She is survived by 1 son Neal Scott, Weir, Kansas and 2 daughters Betty Filby, Pittsburg, Kansas, Dorothy Bennett of Donna, Texas. 1 brother Roy Bennett Raton, NM. and 2 sisters Vera Lancaster Pueblo, Co. and Geraldine Morosan of Pueblo, Co. 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister LaVerna Kay.

Private funeral services will be held at the Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, Kansas. With the Rev. Dennis Johnson Offic. After the funeral services Mrs. Scott will be taken for cremation. Her cremains will be scattered at a later date. Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, Kansas is in charge of the arrangements.
