Lila Ruth Roberts
11 October 1913 — 6 October 2002

Lila Ruth Roberts, 88 of Columbus, Kansas Passed away October 6, 2002 at her home after an illness.

She was born October 11, 1913 in Era, Texas, the daughter of James Bentley and Rosa Ellen Shin. Mrs. Roberts worked as a shoe salesperson in Blackburns Department Store in Amarilla, Texas and she was a member of the Lamount Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas.

She married Burvin E. Roberts on June 11, 1932 at Era, Texas. He preceded her in death in April 1978.

Survivors include a son Doug Roberts of Missouri City, Texas; four daughters Gwen Miner of Tavares, Fla., Gail Houser of Columbus, Kansas, Jean Greer of Vacavilla, Calif. and Glenda Buchanan of Denver, Colo. 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchilren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday October 10, 2002 at Memorial Park Chapel in Amarillo, Texas with the Rev. Bob Thomas offic. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements are under the direction of the Simpson Funeral Home 323 S. Kansas, Columbus, Kansas.
