Hazel Irene (Goodrick) Gribble

Hazel Irene (Goodrick) Gribble, 97, of Columbus, Kansas passed away Friday
October 31, 2002 at the Medicalodge of Columbus; Columbus, Kansas after an
illness.
Hazel was born September 24, 1905 in Westphalia, Kansas the daughter of Bine and
Anna (Corley) Goodrick. She was a resident of Columbus, Ks. most of her life.
She graduated from C.C.C.H.S. in 1924. She was a Librarian at the Columbus
Public Library from Aug. 1954 - July 1975. She aslo worked for the Cooper's Book
and Gift Shop in Columbus, Kansas for 10 years.
Memberships include Library Board of Trustees for many years, United Methodist
Church Columbus, Kansas, 60 year member Chapter V P.E.O. since 1942. She was
recongnized as a golden girl with the P.E.O.
She Married Lee Gribble November 18, 1934 he preceded her in death in 1962.
Survivors include a sister Dorothy Follett Columbus, Kansas, a niece Linda Sours
Grand Junction, Colo. and a nephew Bob Korte Oswego, Kansas and several other
neices and a nephew.
She was preced in death by her husband, and parents, 2 sisters Minnie Swinney
and Florence Korte.
According to her wishes Mrs. Gribble has been cremated.
Memorial services will be Monday (November 4, 2002) at 4 p.m. at the First
United Methodist Church in Columbus, Kansas with the Pastor Bob Whitaker
officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery, Columbus, Kansas at a later
date. The family suggest memorials be left to the First United Methodist Church
Columbus, Kansas or the Columbus Community Foundation which may be left at the
Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus, Kansas. Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus,
Kansas is in charge of the arrangements.
