WORKFORCE
TRAINING:
Three programs availableInvestments in Major Projects &
Comprehensive Training (IMPACT); Kansas Industrial Training (KIT);
Kansas Industrial Retraining (KIR). Job creation & wages criteria
apply to the first two. Instructor salaries, meals, travel, lodging,
instruction materials, temporary facilities and curriculum planning.
KIR is available to you once you become and existing
industry when you need to restructure, for product diversification
or new production activities.
ENTERPRISE ZONE PROGRAM:
If manufacturers create two net, new jobs in a community like
Columbus, a $2,500 tax credit/new job is available. Investment
tax credit is one percent of qualified investment.
HIGH PERFORMANCE INCENTIVE PROGRAM:
10% corporate income tax credit on qualified investment for companies
paying above average wages in the county, and invest in employee
training. Ten year carry forward on credit allowed.
SALES TAX EXEMPTION:
Enterprise Zone & High Performance programs offer 100% sales
tax exemption on the purchase of Labor & Materials for construction,
M & E, computers, furniture & fixtures.
PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION:
Columbus has historically provided 10 year property tax holidays
on Land, buildings & equipment for qualified projects utilizing
either IRB's or Article 11, Sec 13 of the Kansas Constitution.
